"Riding the rails" is
a wonderful and relaxing way of seeing the countryside.
These escorted tours visit fascinating destinations
using scenic rail routes. These are holidays where
you can stretch your legs, watch the scenery drift
past the windows of the dining car and avoid the
crush or hassle of coach or air travel. Our groups
are always small and friendly, usually no more
that 20 persons, enabling everyone to get to know
each other and giving our clients personal attention.
Our European departures range from the exciting
steam operation through the Harz Mountains in
winter to rural trains in sunny Provence, steam
trains in Austria and Scandinavia, the dramatic
mountain railways of Switzerland and trains in
the Catalan region of Spain and the Pyrenees.
|
As an alternative to Europe we
offer two special departures, one to Australia
riding trains and vintage railcars in the “real”
outback, and to Canada for some spectacular trains
travelling through the wild, remote, wilderness
country.
Railtours has always featured tours to the USA
for modern traction enthusiasts, this year we
offer a new destination – Missouri and an
old favourite California.
With over 14 years of experience in rail based
holidays The Travel Bureau are among the leaders
in leisure rail travel. We and our knowledgeable
tour managers look forward to welcoming you onto
one of our tours, indeed many of our customers
return year after year.
